Our 2023 annual fund supports our highest priority: Offering a high quality preschool experience to all families regardless of income. We pay our director a competitive salary, offer a tiered tuition model to increase accessibility for families at all income levels, provide tuition assistance, and foster a play-based environment that sparks curiosity, delight and imagination.
The cost of running our school in alignment with these values requires more than tuition revenue. The average gap between annual tuition and the real cost of a student’s education is $1,400.

Who donates to JMPNS?Everyone who loves our children, or has been a JMPNS family, or who benefits from our unique role in the West Sacramento community. Our donations typically come from current families, board members, alumni, staff, grandparents, neighbors, small businesses and local companies.

Why not raise tuition to cover all expenses?Our tiered tuition model offers families the ability to pay for school according to their means. Some of our families do pay tuition that reflects the full cost of a JMPNS education. Most families pay less, and some receive additional tuition assistance. The annual fund supports these families’ ability to attend.

How much should I give?Every JMPNS family contributes to the community by working and through committee participation. All current and alumni families are also encouraged to join our Alumni Circle by making a recurring donation of $7/mo or more, which gives us financial stability and allows us to plan for the future. Our one-time gifts from extended family, friends and community supporters range from $10 to $5,000.

What about matching gifts?Many companies offer to match charitable donations made to schools, which can potentially double the impact of your support. If your employer provides a matching gift program, you may be able to complete a form in person or online to increase the value of your contribution. Contact your employer to find out if they provide matching gifts.

Nugget Scrip
When you scan your scrip card at the register, up to 4% of your purchase is donated to JMPNS. Ask for a card at customer service.
